AK University – Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using this website (https://akuniversity.com) and/or enrolling in any services, classes, or memberships offered by AK University (“AKU”), you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use this website or participate in any AKU offerings.
2. Definitions
“User,” “You,” and “Your” refer to any individual accessing this site or participating in AKU services.
“AK University,” “AKU,” “We,” and “Us” refer to the business owned and operated by Andreas Kalani.
“Services” include but are not limited to: knife-making classes, club memberships, events, and access to shop tools.
3. Eligibility
Participants must be at least 18 years old to join AKU services. Minors aged 16–17 may participate only with a parent or legal guardian present at all times. No one under the age of 16 may participate without prior written approval and guardian supervision.
4. Use of Website
The website and all its content are for personal, non-commercial use. Users agree not to copy, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, or exploit any part of the site without written permission from AKU.
5. Intellectual Property
All images, videos, designs, curriculum, logos, and other content are the intellectual property of AKU and may not be used without express written consent.
6. Class Enrollment, Deposits & Cancellations

A non-refundable $100 deposit is required to reserve your class spot.

The remaining balance is due in person at the shop on the day of your class.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 3 business days in advance. With enough notice, your deposit can be transferred one time to a future class within the same calendar year (subject to availability).

Cancellations or reschedule requests made less than 3 business days before your class, or no-shows, will forfeit the deposit.

All requests must be made in writing (email or text).
If Full Payment is Made in Advance:

The $100 deposit portion is always non-refundable.

With at least 3 business days’ notice, the remaining balance (total paid minus the deposit) will be refunded or can be applied to a future class within the same calendar year (subject to availability).

Cancellations or reschedule requests made less than 3 business days before the class, or no-shows, are non-refundable.
7. Release of Liability
By participating in any services or using our facilities, you acknowledge the following:

Knife making and related activities involve inherent risks, including the use of sharp tools, machinery, and heat.

You assume full responsibility for your safety and actions while on AKU property.

You agree to release, waive, and discharge AK University, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any liability, claims, or demands resulting from injury, loss, or damages incurred during participation.

All participants and guests must sign a Release of Liability before entering or using the shop.
8. Guest Policy
Members may bring one guest per visit, subject to prior notice and approval. Guests must also sign the Release of Liability and follow all shop rules.
9. Membership Terms
Membership plans are non-transferable. Unused hours do not roll over to the next month. Membership does not include instruction unless booked separately. Members work independently and must demonstrate basic shop knowledge.
10. Changes to Services or Terms
AKU reserves the right to modify, cancel, or update services, pricing, or these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of those changes.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any legal disputes shall be handled within its jurisdiction.
