The inspiration to take the trip from Texas to California was easy! I wanted to learn early in my knife-making journey from the best! When I decided to start making knives, I decided I was going to invest in my education from the start. I have had the honor of studying under many amazing teachers, and the class with Andreas at the AK met every expectation and then some!
From the minute I started the conversation about coming out, the atmosphere was very personal and relaxed. I felt like a plan was put into place to help me grow as a maker. The new techniques I learned, along with the tips and tricks I learned along the way, expanded my knowledge and built my confidence.
The highlight of the two days was definitely, like most, having a beautifully finished knife! This will not be my last visit to AK University!
If you are just wanting to experience the feeling of what it’s like to create a knife from start to finish or you’re like me, just trying to build on your existing skills, this experience is worth every dime!
In closing, thank you, Andreas, for helping me become a better professional and a better maker.
