Our son’s long-standing interest in crafting quality knives led us to AK University. After he completed his college degree and specialty certificate program, we fulfilled our promise and sent him to learn from the renowned knife maker Andreas Kalani. Parker’s experience was exceptional, and he created a stunning custom knife. Impressed, I decided to attend AK University as well.

While I haven’t yet mastered the skills, I appreciate the step-by-step approach. Learning the order of operations—from design to blade profile and symmetry—has made each challenge more manageable. Progress comes one step at a time.

AK University’s environment is both relaxed and inviting. Andreas Kalani’s enthusiasm for teaching matches my eagerness to learn. My only regret? Not having more time. I eagerly await the next class!

AKU surpassed all my expectations. Guided by Andreas, I achieved more than I thought possible.

Beyond being an excellent teacher, Andreas became a friend. His life stories are captivating, adding depth to the learning experience.

Unlike other classes, where instructors perform intricate procedures, Andreas encourages hands-on learning. I’ve worked through tough knife-making challenges, making mistakes and learning how to correct them.

My interest in knife making has transformed into an obsession. I eagerly anticipate crafting more knives, exploring sheath and holster making, and eventually trying my hand at folding knives.

Andreas invested significant time in teaching me. His balance between instruction and hands-on work was perfect. He also shared life experiences, fostering personal growth.

AKU’s variety of classes, including knife making, sheath crafting, leatherwork, and folding knife design, is impressive.

Despite living three hours away, AKU accommodated my schedule. The drive allowed me to absorb the wealth of information shared each day.
