I signed up because it felt like an amazing opportunity to do something new, exotic, and completely out of my comfort zone. Getting to make a knife alongside a true artist made the experience even more special.
What I enjoyed most was how simple and straightforward everything was explained. Andreas is incredibly patient and lets you do the entire process yourself, stepping in only when necessary — and when he does, he shows you exactly how to fix things.
Grinding the blade was the hardest part for me, but hearing the explanation over and over until it finally clicked made all the difference. Once it did, everything started to make sense, including sharpening and hand movement control.
This was my first class ever, and I still walked away with a knife I’m genuinely proud of — despite having zero prior experience working with steel.
I would absolutely recommend AK University. Honestly, it would make me look good just for being the guy who sends people to such a phenomenal place.
