I’ve always been interested in knife making, and my parents surprised me with this class as a Christmas gift. It turned out to be an incredible experience.

The most satisfying part was watching a simple bar of steel transform into a finished knife that I helped shape myself. Being able to add my own personal touches — with guidance on what was possible — made it feel truly mine.

Learning how to grind the blade from a solid bar into an actual knife was eye-opening. I had never thought about how much control and technique went into shaping a blade that way.

The teaching style really stood out. Andreas would demonstrate first, then let me take over, offering guidance without taking control. By the second day, I was able to work more independently, recognize my own mistakes, and understand how to fix them.

I would absolutely recommend AK University. It was fun, educational, and it opened my eyes to a hobby — or even a future career — I had never seriously considered before.
