I joined AK University after going down a deep YouTube rabbit hole about knife making. When I found out the school was only about ten minutes from my house, I knew I had to try it.

The atmosphere here was exactly what I needed—focused, quiet, and full of information. I stayed mostly silent because Andreas was constantly sharing important insights, and I didn’t want to miss anything. If I ever take knife making seriously in the future, I know these foundations will matter.

My favorite moment was watching Andreas blend the bevels with perfect consistency. Seeing the pressure, control, and confidence behind each pass helped me overcome the fear of messing up my own grind. It changed the way I approach grinding completely.

As a teacher, Andreas set clear expectations before every major step. A couple of times I needed things repeated, but he always made sure I understood what needed to be done before moving ahead. I suggested that students repeat key points back in their own words, and he received the feedback openly and respectfully.

I would absolutely recommend AK University. The class gave me clarity, confidence, and real skills that I couldn’t have gained anywhere else.
