Working with Andreas was a great experience. He’s a gifted instructor—patient, clear, and deeply knowledgeable about the art and science of knife making. I’ve always been interested in knives and bladed tools, and my daughter surprised me with his two-day class as a Father’s Day gift. Best gift ever.

The hands-on format fit the way I learn. Grinding the steel was challenging in the best way, and Andreas guided me through building real technique. He also taught me the ‘why’ behind it—how proper heat treatment (annealing and tempering) creates a strong, reliable blade. My favorite moment was the tip test: we dropped my finished knife tip-first onto the concrete, and it didn’t even flinch. That’s when I understood true quality.

I left with a solid foundation in how a quality knife is made—and a knife I’m proud to say I made myself. Andreas opened the door to a craft I respect deeply. Beyond being an expert, he’s someone I now consider a friend.
