My knife-making journey began with a desire to sharpen knives better, which led me to refurbish vintage Japanese chef knives. That started me making the handles. At that point, I decided to learn to work with steel and actually craft my own blades.
The intro class at AK University was transformative. Most importantly, it taught me to effectively use the grinder and increased my confidence dramatically. It also refined the entire process for me.
Andreas is an engaging and supportive teacher. I enjoyed the class and couldn’t believe the knife I made. I plan on taking the entire series of classes.
