We came into AK University wanting a real hands-on challenge—taking raw bar stock and learning how to transform it into a functional, beautiful tool for our kitchen.
What really stood out was learning how to adapt and problem-solve at the grinder. When you're shaping steel, you have to learn pressure control and roll with the punches when a design shifts mid-build. Andreas taught us to embrace the process, work through mistakes, and turn unexpected blemishes into character. It was two hard, full days of work, sweat, and focus, but we walked away with incredible knives and a genuine realization of what we're capable of making with our own hands.
